🤔Since I started watch the show from s48, I don’t actually know how he died before)) didn’t found something about this in Internet too. I know that after his death, he went to 火宅佛獄 as a ghost. He went there to study a special kind of kongfu, in order to beat 佛業雙身 for justice. He finally got revived with the help of 淨琉璃 and 九界佛皇. But when he stayed in 佛獄, he got some bad influence from 咒世主, which made him cruel and bloodthirsty then. (which Chinese fans called as 入魔)
You may find in s49 he sometimes was very impetuous 😆 And he killed too many people. It’s almost hard to imagine a Buddhism monk would do like this, because all Buddhism monks are vegans—they just respect all living creatures so much. But it’s reasonable, since 一頁書 was possessed by the evil guys of 佛獄.
I am still feel confused when I try to express what “入魔” stands for…it’s like “a good character suddenly turn into a big badass”)) Do you know that American movie series named Star Wars? It’s like what happened оn Anakin Skywalker, who was seduced and joined the dark side.
My friend suggested that maybe it could be “a good guy got possessed by devil and fall into dark”
And the nickname of 疏樓龍宿 is 龍咻咻. 咻咻 is a оnomatopoeic word, often used to describe the sounds of something rushing out, or the sounds some animals make when they exhale. And the word 咻 share the same pronunciation with 宿.
And it turns out this character is 百里冰泓, showing up in s57 I just finished. It felt so surprised that I and the respected playwright cried for the same character!XDD

There’re some issues оn the intentions of this villain🤔He opposed and attacked different camps, but the main reason for doing this was a blur. When he was still a worm named 鬼覺神知, he called himself as the servant of saints and devils. So apparently he was forced by the mystical book 圣魔元史(history between saints and devils). In later periods when the plots of 血傀師 has ended for a while, our heroes was still dealing with the dramas caused by this book. The power of the book was gradually enhanced by playwrights XDD At first it was just like a agreement about the wars between saints and devils, but in s59 it can predict things, have his own intelligence and avatars, even produce an avatar mingling with a part of soul of 素還真.

Shadow!Sakura: (the theme: ladykiller) She got this task from the stylist of 拂櫻齋主. Normally, the different versions of оne character would be designed by оne stylist. 魔王子：(the theme: keep adding red till the world upside down & girls want men like devil!) The playwright wanted transparent horns like what devils have. Normally this work should be finished by carving masters. But this time it was the responsibility of stylists. So they wanted to use different materials, instead of wood. After several trials they finally succeeded in making horns of acrylic. About the shape, they chose sheep’s horns, it’s suitable for the western elements of this character.
I think “avatar” is a reasonable translation. This word is from Indian religion, and we know Buddhism, which is from India, strongly influenced the religious system in Ancient China to some extents. It’s just like a extension of “body-soul” dualism, a man can control more than оne body if his soul is enough powerful. Normally avatars are just combinations of flesh and blood as container and the same soul(or some parts of soul, because people believed оne’s soul can be divided into different parts)
凋亡禁決 is like those board games, such as the Werewolves of Miller's Hollow (in China that's also popular among the youth). The difference is this game is truly dangerous. It had been held twice, and the first оne was held many years ago. And 戚太祖 acted as the host of game twice. 金狮币 was the prize for winners in the second game.
決 means "duel", it's same with "太荒神決" in s52-53. 禁 here means "forbidden", because this game was so dangerous, that people thought they should ban it. As for "凋亡", it's for "withering". I think "the forbidden duel" is a good translation.
