На самом деле я шучу, песенка была другого толка.

Посвящалась она некоей Флосси Мур, девушке весьма известной в Балтиморе конца 19 века.

All other girls were shady when Flossie was the lady,

When she left for home to-day she was looking extra fine,

When she got to the station all the "chappies "were in line;

She'd presents by the score from ev'ry leading store,

And just before she started they'd a parting drink of wine.

Each "chappie" had to make a speech to thank Miss Flossie Moore,

На деле Флосси Мур не только устраивала парням скачки и дарила поцелуи (черных проституток в Чикаго тогда было очень много), но и была самой удачливой грабительницей (ну, по крайней мере одной из них, потому как черные проститутки занимались грабежом через одну, а воровством почти поголовно) Чикаго (в тот момент города весьма криминального). Считается, что за время своей преступной деятельности, она награбила от 50 до 75 (по некоторым, более смелым оценкам - более 120) тыс. долларов (всего за 4 года). Надо сказать, что четверть из этой суммы ушла на залоги - она представала перед судом десятки раз, но каждый раз ей удавалось выходить на свободу. Сколько раз ее арестовывали едва ли поддается подсчету, но бывали дни, когда ее арестовывали по десять раз.

Флосси держала на жаловании (125 долларов в месяц) хорошего адвоката, но и он ей не помог, когда ее взяли на "горячем" - украла из кошелька клиента 40 долларов и загремела на 5 лет.
