Dresses for “The Brides” designed by Eiko Ishioka for “Dracula” by Francis Ford Coppola (1992) from Bram Stoker’s novel (1897) photographed by David Seidner:
“Francis [Ford Coppola] wanted a decaying, deteriorating feel to the fabric, like the shrouds of the mummies in the catacombs of Bombay. The passage of time would have turned the white fabrics to rich amber, so fragile that it would crumble when you touched it. At the same time, he wanted extremely feminine robes, like the оnes worn by the women in paintings by the Czech poster-painter Mucha.”
